Dog Ramp is Constructed of 8 mm hi-tech, white, box-corrugated,
recyclable, polypropylene
The Skamper-Ramp dog ramp attaches to the side of the pool, walled pond,
floating dock, boat, swim platform or lake. Because animals see 550nm (white)
they can see this ramp day or night, and they "skamper" out on the ramp.
We suggest attaching this dog pool ramp to the pool's deck with the
stainless steel D-ring clips & ropes provided. There are 2 sets of holes in
the ramp for threading the rope through, in order to have a snug fit to the
wall.
Some people choose to use existing railings, pool cover anchors, or
water leveler covers, rather than drilling into their deck.
The dog ramp should float/hang in the water at an angle that is
approximately 30-degrees below horizontal so that the dog ramps round nose is
submerged by a few inches.
While wild animals seem to know
instinctively how to use Skamper-Ramp in an emergency, some of our more
domesticated pets might need to be shown how the ramp can help them out of the
water. We suggest you take your dog into the pool putting a treat on the ramp
near the pool edge & another on the pool deck, so they go up the ramp trying
to get at the treat. Practice this drill until you feel your dog knows how to
use the Skamper-Ramp.
